Course Overview
- Digital printing is by far one of the most exciting developments in the textile industry. Not only does it open up endless opportunities for customization, small run printing, prototyping and experimentation but it also puts textile printing within the budget of your average illustrator.
- This course provides students with a broad introduction into 2-dimensional Computer-Aided Design (CAD) with a focus on Textile design and Printing specific applications.
- Students will learn how to use industry-leading CAD software programs (Adobe Photoshop CS6) to make textile prints and patterns.
- Digital textile printing can reproduce unlimited colors and shades but – as with most forms of printing – what you see on screen is not necessarily what you get back, so it requires developing expertise in understanding colors.

- Learning about different types of Fashion Trends thought the history.
- Understanding Photoshop tools and how they are used.
- How to work on layers in Photoshop
- What is theme? How to make research boards
- How to make a seamless design
- How to compose a digital design and repeats in Photoshop
- How to make scarf design
- How to compose a shirt and its digital design in Photoshop.
- Final project digital print composition along with respective mock up.

Assessment Criteria
Weekly assignments will be conducted to assess the learning of students. Final project will involve research board of the selected topic scarf design with mock up and shirt design with mockup.
